Privacy policy

GenXSync is a collaboration platform operated by Genexsus Technology LLC, 75 Canal Street, Unit 295, Manchester, NH 03101, United States — the data controller for the information described here. "We" and "us" below mean that company.

This policy explains what the service stores, who it is shared with, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What we collect

• Account details — your username, email address and a hashed password. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never stored or transmitted in readable form.
• Content you create — messages, reactions, uploaded files and documents, the channels and groups you belong to, and coursework if your organisation uses the education features.
• Usage records — sign-in times and active sessions, so you can see and revoke your own devices, and an audit log of consequential actions inside a group.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your content to advertise to you.

Third parties

Uploaded files are stored in Amazon S3. That is the only third party that receives your content.

We take no payments at present, so no payment processor holds anything of yours. When paid plans open, billing details will go directly to the payment provider and we will not see your card number.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, under your profile. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your profile, sessions, two-factor setup, and every group and channel membership.

Messages you posted in shared channels are kept so that other people's conversations remain readable, but they stop being attributed to you. If you need those removed as well, contact us before deleting the account and we will handle it.

Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Genexsus Technology LLC, the company that owns and operates GenXSync. By using the service you agree to them. You are responsible for what you post and for keeping your credentials secure. We provide the service as it is, and may suspend accounts that break the rules below.

The platform is free while it is in early access, and there is nothing to cancel. If paid plans are introduced, what your account already has stays available to it, and any change will be announced before it takes effect rather than after.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved between us go to the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire.

Acceptable use — zero tolerance

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You may not use GenXSync to:

• harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone;
• post hate speech, or content attacking people over race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
• post sexual content involving minors, or any sexual content without consent;
• post content that depicts or encourages violence or self-harm;
• send spam, run scams, or distribute malware;
• upload material you have no right to share.

Accounts that post this material are removed. We filter the clearest cases automatically at the point of posting, but automated filtering is a floor, not a substitute for reporting.

Reporting abuse

Every message, document and user can be reported from inside the app, and you can block any user — which hides their content from you and stops direct messages in both directions.
